What it is
Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is when the shoulder capsule becomes inflamed, thickened and tight, causing pain and a marked loss of movement. It moves through stages and, with the right care, resolves.
Signs and symptoms
- A deep ache and stiffness in the shoulder
- Difficulty reaching overhead or behind your back
- Pain at night, especially lying on that side
- Movement that is limited in every direction
How physiotherapy helps
Treatment is tailored to your stage: settling pain first, then progressively restoring movement and strength with hands-on therapy and a home programme. We keep it comfortable and paced to your shoulder.
At Meridian, care is always one-on-one with an AHPC-registered physiotherapist. We explain things clearly, give honest advice with no upselling, support your insurance claim and keep our pricing transparent.
